Prayer Requests After Day One

July 7th, 2008

While God did amazing things even in the rainy weather today, the conditions did keep many people indoors and put those who were out in a hurry to be about their business.

  • Please pray that weather will be more pleasant through the rest of the week. One of the best opportunities for the IWCers to be able to strike up conversations is when people are out for a stroll or feeling up to a pickup game of Frisbee or Hacky Sack.
  • Pray that the students will be comfortable initiating conversations even though they don’t know the local language. Pray that the people they meet who are able to speak English are interested in having a conversation. Pray that those who don’t speak English would be willing to read the fliers.
  • Pray that the students will be able to complete their film projects. Pray that the people in the city will be interested in the projects and come to the showing event.
  • Pray that God would continue to work in the hearts of the students who are part of this project, and that they would grow closer to Christ through this experience.

Nadrazi Crew Encouraged By Responsiveness

July 7th, 2008

Crew Nadrazi was encouraged by the encounters they were able to have today with Czechs who were willing to be part of their film on the subject of trust.

Brenda Lipham, a Nadrazi crew member from Kathleen Baptist Church, said one of the first people willing to be part of the video was a young man who showed interest in what the group was doing at the train station. Read the rest of this entry »

Students Reach Out Through Conversations, Sports

July 7th, 2008

Students embarked on their first day of street ministry in Olomouc this morning with open hearts and willing attitudes, even though they did not know exactly what to expect.

Team Sady, led by Tommy Horton of First Baptist Church of Central Florida, led the group to the market Trznice for their first morning time of ministry. The students had with them literature written in Czech and Vietnamese, as well as Frisbees and Hacky Sacks. They also had information to distribute regarding a family English camp that will be hosted by the Browns later this summer. Read the rest of this entry »

Rain No Obstacle For IWC Crews

July 7th, 2008

Despite overcast weather, the International World Changer crews set out this morning with hearts expectant for God to bring people into their paths.

The Hejcin crew prayerwalked around a school in their area of Olomouc, en route to a more populated area of their region.

Then the group of eight split into pairs in an effort to make themselves more approachable for the Czechs they encountered. Read the rest of this entry »

Prayer Requests From Orientation Day

July 6th, 2008

As the group surveyed their areas of Olomouc today they also prayerwalked the streets together.

In their prayers the teams asked for

  • boldness in sharing their faith,
  • clear direction concerning the ways and places God would have them minister in their areas of Olomouc, and
  • for Him to prepare the hearts of the Czechs the teams will come in contact with, removing any hesitancy the people in Olomouc might feel about visiting with IWC group members.
As you pray for the group and their activities this week, please lift up these requests along with the crews in Olomouc.

Crews Hit the Streets
