To reach a city with a high population of university students and a people exceptionally open to meeting and speaking with college students, there could not be many better groups to come and serve than the 52 International World Changers who will arrive in Olomouc, Czech Republic, July 5.

The IWC group will work alongside International Mission Board missionary Steve Brown and his family in an effort to share the love of Christ with the people of Olomouc.

In the mornings, Steve said, the IWCers will divide into teams to go into different parts of the city and hand out Bibles, spiritual surveys and Christian literature.

“We’re looking for those who are spiritually interested,” Steve said. “God’s working in their heart, God’s going to strike something in their hearts and they’ll have our information where they can contact us and follow up.”

The same teams will head out in the afternoons to capture video for their short film projects that will be shown the last night the group is in Olomouc, July 10.

“They’re going to film and produce 6 or more short films about different aspects of the Czech culture, seen through their eyes as American students,” Steve said.

He said the purpose behind the project is to integrate as many Czechs into the project as possible and invite them to the video viewing.

Steve said topics such as love and truth will be the subjects of the films. One of the topics will be God, and for that film the team will interview a Christian, he said. The idea is to present to those who come to view the videos on the last night four of five interviews with people who hold views similar to their own, right alongside the Christian’s interview.

“So they’ll be talking about their beliefs and then there’ll be a Christian. We want people to see the contradiction, the difference between the two,” Steve said.

The Browns plan to further use the films as content on their upcoming Web site that will be designed to target the secular world of Moravia, he said.

Making contacts and inviting Czechs to the Bible studies the Browns have currently on-going, the English camp they have coming up in three weeks and English classes they will lead in the fall are other significant goals of the July 10 event.
