IWCers Witness Through Films
Students and crew managers have been working hard all week on projects that were only revealed tonight—a set of creative films on the subjects of freedom, hope, truth, trust, God and love.
By this afternoon all of the scenes had been captured on video and everything came down to the last few frantic hours of piecing clips together and splicing in music and effects for the grand presentations at the Culture House of Olomouc.
Brian Morales, a Namesti crew member from Yorktown Baptist Church, was one of the film editors who was struggling to get his team’s film together with the equipment and time constraints he had to work under this week. After two days of technical difficulties, it didn’t look like the Namesti crew was going to be able to show any part of their work tonight.
“Then today, about two hours [before the presentation started], I threw together a completely new movie,” Brian said. “It still illustrates the topic. I’m happy that we finished it, is the biggest thing. I’m happy that we actually got it done because for a while this morning I wasn’t sure.”
Crew Sady’s video theme was hope. Megan Hardy, a Sady crew member from First Baptist Church of Central Florida, said her team wants the people who view their video to understand that hope is never out of their grasp.
“Basically [we want them to understand] that if all is lost there is still hope for the people,” Megan said. “That was kind of the motto for our theme. If all is lost, there’s still hope. Not that there’s just nothing out there, nothing that can help. That there is an answer.”
The films the crews put together over this week will later be posted as part of the Browns’ outreach Web site for Czechs.
Megan said her prayer is that the individuals Sady came in contact with over the past week will be able to view the films and that what they see will reach their hearts.
“People we met weren’t Christians, but hopefully they’ll watch [the film] and they’ll realize that God is the only answer, and then they’ll bring their friends and it’ll just spread throughout the whole country.”
